Important Information for Members and Inductees

The National Junior Honor Society membership packets can be picked up in room 7. They must be turned in by December 16. The service requirement is 12 hours of community service. The community service hours need to be completed by June 1. After the second quarter, students will be notified if they have meet all the requirements. Our induction ceremony will take place Monday February 13.

The NJHS community service project for the year is to deliver and serve lunch to the residents of the San Jose Family Shelter. The San Jose Family Shelter is transitional housing for families of San Jose. We will be asking the members to help the lunches and to provide food for the lunches.

Information for the Price Chapter, National Junior Honor Society

Price Middle School is an established chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. We are pleased that you are interested in becoming a member - here is a basic overview about the requirements to become a member.

The National Junior Honor Society is the leader among organizations and societies that promote appropriate recognition for students who reflect ourstanding accomplishments in the areas of scholarship, character, leadership, citizaneship, and service. Participation in activities beyond the activities provided on our campus is required to meet the service and citizenship requirements.

The Chapter Advisor, Mrs. Alesi, and the Faculty Council will support you in finding additional off campus activites to fulfill the service/citizenship requirements. The Faculty Council of the chapter will select the students that demonstrate outstanding performance in all five criteria. The purposes of the National Junior Honor Society are as follows:

To create enthusiam for Scholarship
To stimulate a desire to render Service
To promote Leadership
To develop Character
To encourage Citizenship

Each candidate must provide verification of the below requirements to be inducted into the Price Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.

3.5 cumulative grade point
Leadership teacher recommendation sheets and community letter of recommendation
Service/citizenship requirement of 12 hours of service/citizenship activities of which 6 hours maybe performed through the Price Community Service Club
Character teacher recommmentation sheets and community letter of recommendation
