Music Programs

The Cambrian School District follows the Orff-Schulwerk approach to fostering creativity and conveying musical knowledge and skills.

General Music Progra for K-5 Students

All Sartorette students participate in our general music program. Each class has music instruction once a week for the fall semester. The general music curriculum follows the Orff-Schulwerk approach, which allows students to explore, imitate, improvise and compose music through singing, body percussion, playing pitched and un-pitched percussion instruments, and movement. The students showcase some of their skills with a music concert at the end of the semester. For more information, contact Tiffany Barry or Bill Golden.

Elementary Choir Program

The District Choir Program is under the guidance of Tiffany Barry. It meets on Monday afternoons from 4-5pm at Ida Price Middle School. This program is available to all 3^rd, 4^th and 5^th grade students in the district. Choir students will perform various concerts during the school year. Registration begins in the fall. Elementary Instrumental Music Program

The Cambrian School District offers 4^th and 5th grade students an opportunity to explore instrumental band music. Beginning Band (first year students) rehearses twice a week during lunch, and Cadet Band (second year students) also rehearses twice a week – once during lunch at their respective schools and once after school at Ida Price for a combined district band rehearsal with all four elementary schools. Band students will perform various band concerts for students and parents during the school year. Registration begins in the fall. For more information, contact Tiffany Barry or Bill Golden.

Instruction offered for these instruments: flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone and percussion.

Cambrian Summer Music Program 2009

There are many opportunities for young people during the summer, yet music camp enrollment has been on the rise because of the positive impact it plays on a child’s overall development and musical skills. During Cambrian’s Summer Music Program, students will associate with talented and enthusiastic instructors and peers, and experience a wide range of musical activities.
